The YouTube Apk is gaining a handy new feature that allows you to see the full transcription of any video from inside the app. The feature was previously only available on YouTube’s desktop edition, but it’s now available for a few Android users.
You can navigate through the video transcript by scrolling through the Transcript window or jumping immediately to a certain timestamp, as seen in the screenshots. However, you won’t be able to search through the transcript with this function, making it less useful than the desktop version. Nonetheless, it’s a great addition because it allows users to view the video transcript directly within the app.
The feature appears to be trickling out to users via a server-side update, and it’s currently confined to a small number of YouTube users, according to the source. Even with the current version of YouTube Apk installed, the feature isn’t available on any of our devices right now, but your mileage may vary.
