By Sarthak Dogra: Zomato introduced a “Pro Plus” membership on top of its Zompato Pro subscription on Monday, much like a smartphone counterpart. The membership is limited to chosen clients who have been invited by the business. Naturally, I anticipated receiving one, and I did.

Free delivery on all orders, regardless of cost, distance, or surge, are guaranteed by the limited-edition subscription. According to Zomato, it will uphold this commitment even “during rains.”

I had a Zomato Pro subscription up until yesterday when I received its invite. Unlike Swiggy Super, which offers free deliveries on orders over a certain amount, Zomato Pro does not always do so. Thus, the “Pro Plus” is Zomato’s attempt at offering free delivery to encourage you to place more orders using the app.

So far, it appears to work. Since I subscribed to Zomato Pro Plus, I have placed two Zomato orders in a single day. I can tell you that there is a sizable savings to be had here if you are a regular Zomato user as well. How? Read on.

Zomato Pro Plus benefits

The benefits of Zomato Pro Plus go beyond the assurance of free delivery. Even so, as it is the most crucial, let’s concentrate on it right now. There are two Pro Plus options available from Zomato. A three-month package is offered for Rs 300 while the annual one costs Rs 900. I went for the former because I could save an extra Rs 300 over the course of a year by doing so.

Prior to the Pro Plus, I had to pay an average of Rs. 50 for delivery on each item. I saved about Rs 100 on the two orders I made after subscribing to the membership.

Even for individuals who don’t frequently order from Zomato, the offer makes some sense. “Rare,” I take this to mean a few orders per month. Any distance price above Rs 30 should allow one to very nearly recoup the cost of Pro Plus membership within a calendar year.

Zomato Pro Plus: How To Avail?

Here’s how to upgrade your Pro membership to Pro Plus if you’ve done the math and want to.

Zomato Pro Plus is an invite-only subscription, thus in order to upgrade your membership, you must first get an invite on your Zomato Pro account. Keep in mind that Zomato has only sent the invite to specific Pro members. There is therefore no assurance that you have or will receive an invite, even if you are a Pro member. You can put Pro Plus on hold for the time being if you are not a Zomato Pro member.

If you were one of the fortunate ones, Zomato may have sent you a notification on Monday afternoon with a sneak peek at the invitation. The subscription was described in the pre-invite as “launching in a few hours.” The membership upgrade now shows up the first time you open the Zomato app, in a tiny window on the bottom left. If you choose it, Pro Plus’ subscription page, where the two options are presented, will be redirected to you.

I have so far dismissed all of these Pro Plus pop-ups to test Zomato’s tenacity. Therefore, even if you closed it, the upgrade offer will remain be prominently shown as banners across the Zomato app.

The Pro Plus option may also be found in your Zomato account settings. To do this, tap the symbol in the top-right corner to access your user account. You may view your existing Zomato membership and whether you have the opportunity to upgrade to Pro Plus by selecting the “Your Membership” option in the list that appears.
